Factors to consider for your backlink campaigns
Guest blogging and link building are the best approaches to bring backlinks and authority to your site. The more backlinks you have from highly trusted sources, the more your ranking will increase on Search Engines and the greater the domain authority you will enjoy.
When it comes to launching a link building campaign with the goal to get backlinks that actually help your site get noticed, there are a lot of things to keep in mind. However, to try to keep things relatively straightforward, I recommend that you focus on these 3 main points:
- Authority: Follow the old adage: “you will be judged by the company you keep”. Sites with authority mean that they have already proven their worth and demonstrated that they feature quality content. While creating your backlink campaigns, quality should come in first place. Getting back links from everywhere doesn’t mean Google will rank your site. It’s simple, if you get links from unknown sites, you will get unknown results. Avoid being linked from sites that were built for Search engines and are clogged with dubious content. Instead, put your company name on high-authority sites that were built for the users with content they can actually use, and you will get healthy links.
- Relevancy: Yes, it’s great to receive backlinks from authority sites, but are they relevant? If you are in the health industry, why are you getting links from finance sites? While running your link building campaigns, make sure to place your company on relevant websites. Otherwise, you will target the wrong audience and your campaign may not reach the desired result. Google also looks for relevant backlinks when it ranks sites, and if yours fail this test, Google may not rank your site or may drop its ranking precipitously. Get links from sites that are directly related to your niche and you will be seen and appreciated by your targeted audience and Google. Make sense?
- Domain Authority: Have you heard the expression “Guilt by association?” It perfectly applies in this context! The domain authority measures the strength of a blog. It’s score ranges from 1 to 100, with higher scores corresponding to a greater authority, and it’s calculated by evaluating linking root domains and number of total links among other variables. sites with a very large number of high-quality external links are at the top end of the Domain Authority scale. Get backlinks from those sites, and they will pass those on to you.
Yes, there are many other things to look at if you’re looking to get good backlinks, however, keep it simple. Apply those three points while running your link building campaigns, and you’re sure to attract search engines’ attention. But please be patient. The world was not build in a day. Allow time for search engines to find you, analyse you, rank you, and then watch as your patience pays off.
